The Collateral Damage of Good Intentions: How Service Culture Disables or Empowers People


The relationship that we enter into with the people who rely on disability services and supports is a core indicator for how person-centered we will be in service to them. Equally important is the assumption that we may hold about the person’s future and expectation for success. This session will examine four service cultures that arise at the intersections of relationship, expectation and hope for the future.
